Dental crowns are cemented on the teeth, completely covering them. Their use is required for severely damaged teeth that cannot be otherwise restored. According to the materials they are made of, they can be entirely porcelain or metal-ceramic. Ceramic structures have greater strength and are suitable for bridges.

Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain crowns are highly aesthetic due to the lack of metal. Their relative transparency makes them suitable for restoring teeth that have not been significantly altered.

The teeth must be cut with a threshold saw. They are cemented with composite cements similar to photopolymers, which necessitates the use of cofardam.

Zirconium Crowns

Zirconium oxide is a noble metal alloy with chalky white color. Zirconia blocks the dark color of the dead teeth, and the white color makes the crown colors more vivid and true.

Mettaloceramic crowns

Ceramic crowns are an old and proven technology. The bond between metal and porcelain is extremely strong and reliable. Due to their strength, they are suitable for the construction of large bridges. The metal alloy can be base - chromium - cobald - molybdenum or noble - mostly gold alloys. Base alloys are not biologically tolerable. Contact with soft tissues causes chronic irritation and the metal oxides they release can repaint the gum. Their advantage is durability and low cost.

Captek crowns

These crowns combine the strength of the base alloys and the qualities of the noble ones. The metal is not cast, but sintered using patented technology. Biological tolerance is extremely high.
