Bonding is a procedure whereby teeth are restored or corrected directly in the patient's mouth after removal of caries and old fillings. The result is highly aesthetic, with minimal or no tooth extraction. The advantage of treatment is the lower cost compared to porcelain veneers and the need for only one visit.
The procedure is applied when changing the shape of the teeth, correction of broken edges, removal of cracks and discolourations, closing of distances between separate teeth.
Cofferdam isolation allows the practitioner to perform the procedure properly and keep the teeth dry all the time. Recovery takes 1.5 - 2 hours per tooth.
The result is highly aesthetic due to the lack of metal in the restoration.
In addition to the necessary equipment in the clinic, the doctor should be familiar with the technique of working with photopolymer and cofferdam, have knowledge of dental anatomy, shape and proportions, to know the interdental ratios in front and chewing teeth. However, all this will not be enough if the practitioner lacks talent, skill and artistry - direct restorations are jewelry in difficult conditions, with difficult material for a limited time.
